Serendipity - Meeting Candida Costa from ComSciênciaConecta

It was a serendipitous moment to meet Candida. I was looking for Unicamp alumnae to take part in my PhD research on women's sense of belonging in higher education, and a friend who is a professor at Unicamp gave me a couple of names that fit my criteria. While searching for these women, I came across Candida, who was not the person my friend had suggested, and I mistakenly contacted her to ask if she would like to be interviewed.

After clarifying the confusion, although she didn’t meet the criteria to be one of my participants, we realised our work is closely related. The tables turned as she invited me to be interviewed for her series of conversations on Instagram about 'Female Overburden.' Our talk, titled Care Economy: Making the Invisible Visible (Economia do Cuidado: Tornando Visível o Invisível in Portuguese), explores the invisible paid and unpaid care work.

This encounter sparked a lovely rapport, and I was delighted to meet her in person when I travelled to Brazil.
