Memorias Entrelaçadas - Do Trauma Ao Empoderamento

My first book, based on my master’s research at the Centre of Latin American Studies, University of Cambridge.

The books have finally arrived in Cambridge!

Delivering a fresh-off-the-press copy of my first book to my lovely friend Julie, librarian at the Centre of Latin American Studies at Cambridge, during the pandemic.

Delighted to gift my dear friend Carina Pataxó a copy of my book.

Sharing a special moment with my children, showing them a copy of my book at my college library.

Thrilled to see my first published book in Portuguese, finally here after a long journey from Brazil!

Lovely friend Bia, one of the first to read my book.
Based on the author’s master’s dissertation from the University of Cambridge (UK), Memórias Entrelaçadas – do trauma ao empoderamento tells the life stories of domestic worker mothers and school aides and their daughters, the first generation in their families to obtain a university degree in Brazil.
The book investigates the role of mothers in their daughters' journey to university and introduces the concept of intertwined memories to demonstrate how the mechanism of memory transmission between mothers and daughters led to mutual support, transforming trauma into empowerment.
I made the book available for free! You can download it here:
