The best partners in crime: Alexandre da Trindade and Heidy Perez at the Faculty of Education with visiting scholar Dr. Lenon Maschette.
Lenon presenting his ongoing postdoctoral research comparing the extreme right in Brazil and the UK.
Happy to make some very special friends along the way. Here I am with Lenon at The Orchard in Grantchester.
Lenon's latest book on the British Conservative Party.
When I saw that a visiting scholar from my alma mater, the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), was giving a talk on Brazilian contemporary welfare politics at the Centre of Latin American Studies (CLAS), I was really keen to attend. Not only was it a brilliant presentation at my former department, but I also had the pleasure of meeting Lenon, a great person and academic. I invited him to give a talk in our Faculty of Education. My partner in crime, Alexandre da Trindade, joined our team, and together we delivered a very engaging talk to our peers. This was followed by a discussion among participants about how the extreme right has recently affected our lives, including our research work.
