I never imagined or dreamt of returning to university in my 40s, after having two children. Transitioning from being a full-time mother—following a corporate career in Brazil and London—into the unknown yet promising path of education was both challenging and rewarding. I am deeply grateful for being offered a place in the MPhil programme at the Centre of Latin American Studies at Cambridge University, as well as at Murray Edwards College.
