Adding my voice to my college's institutional video celebrating our 70th anniversary in 2024. - 12 June, 2024

Thrilled to have my voice included in my college's institutional video celebrating its 70th anniversary.

When I began my studies at Cambridge, I chose to apply to a women’s college as I take great pride in the history of these spaces—originally Girton, Newnham, and later New Hall (now Murray Edwards) and Lucy Cavendish. I strongly advocate for the continuity of these colleges, especially as Girton and Lucy Cavendish have transitioned to mixed-gender admissions in recent years. I view women’s colleges as serving a similar purpose to affirmative action, creating dedicated spaces and opportunities to address the systemic barriers women face in education. By ensuring that 100% of places and scholarships are awarded to women, these colleges actively support the academic empowerment of women.

Although I live outside of college, I strive to be an active member of my college, New Hall (now Murray Edwards). I engage with our president, fellows, and staff, and was honoured to be invited to have my testimonial recorded for the college’s 70th anniversary in 2024.
