📣 Join us for our first CLAREC Cinema Sessions + Conversations of 2025!

A screening of Jay Blades: Learning to Read at 51 (2022), convened by PhD candidate Anna Maria Del Fiorentino.

Anna will introduce this inspiring documentary, which follows Jay Blades’ journey as he confronts undiagnosed dyslexia and learns to read at the age of 51. Having left school in London unable to read or write, Blades’ emotional story sheds light on the challenges and triumphs of adult literacy.

Following the screening, join us for a reflective conversation exploring the film’s themes.
